Search engines make a serious effort to constantly improve the quality of their search results.
That means the old ways of manipulating search engine results are coming to a close. Search engines want unique and valid content -- information useful to the people that are conducting the search. So what should you do to improve your search engine results?
Start with quality content. And make sure your site is updated on a regular basis.
Want proof this approach works?
Put on your journalist hat. Write a single article that is genuinely useful to people. No marketing propoganda allowed. No more than 500 words. Include a link to your website. Sprinkle some key words into your article.
Once this is done, contact people (non-competitors) and give them the content. They value your contribution because it is something they don't need to write. If you've done your job, your content is useful. Distribute your content across the web in a few very relevant places. A word of caution -- don't use the article to spam the search engines. Be selective and work to build quality links. Overtime, traffic to your website will increase...organically.
It is that simple. |
